• LEVEL 1 - FOUNDATION

This video shows the MOST IMPORTANT part of training a personal protection dog. This particular training is designed for real protection training for personal protection, family protection, and law enforcement. The biggest mistake people make is that they target equipment. And what we want to do is teach the dogs to target the man, the potential bad guy. And that's what this training is designed to do. The reason is that what the dog learned first will stay with him for the rest of his life.

LEVEL 2 - BITE ON SLEEVE

This video is the continuation of the training of the civil way to train dogs, which was LEVEL 1, which you need to do before you come to this stage. At this stage, we start teaching the dog to bite, and you cannot go to this second stage until the dog is totally civil, meaning he focuses on the man. And then, when the dog focuses on the man, then you introduce a sleeve or some kind of a protection for the decoy because that's all it is. We NEVER teach the dog to target the equipment. So we've got to ensure that the dog will target the man before we can come to this stage.

    LEVEL 3 - BRIDGING

This video is about bridging and advancing the training from Level 2 to Level 3. We will use a muzzle and how to transfer the dog on a bodysuit. Again, I will repeat that we are NOT using bodysuit to be targeted. And that's really important. So we're making sure the dog stays civil. Even so, biting on our equipment suit, which is strictly for the protection of the decoy and not to be targeted. The bridging is you have two tasks, like a shore on the river and the bridge goes over it from one task to another. And that bridge helps us to keep the spirit of the training the way we want. And in other words, we don't want to go from a civil and suddenly, the dog becomes equipment oriented.

    LEVEL 4 - OUT

One of the last things usually in my work is taking the dog off of the bite, and there are three or four ways you can do it. One way is sport, and we are NOT doing sport, so I'm not going to spend time on it. If you want to learn how to teach dog in sport, you can watch somebody else's video for this.

In sport, teaching the dog to out in order to get another bite. So, in other words, the helper is stop moving, which is boring for the dog, and the dog would like the helper to keep moving. So in order for him, we teach the dog that in order for the helper to start moving again and playing with the dog, the dog has to let go or do whatever down-speak or whatever.

And then he gets a reward and gets another bite. And it goes boost or let go. And then, when the dog lets go, you say yes and give the dog another bite. So the next bite is a reward for letting go. And the problem, as far as I'm concerned with that, is that the dog if you use the dog in law enforcement, this type out leads to situations where the dog expects another bite after the outside.

And then we have the liability bites where the dog bites just because he thinks it's time to do it again. So that's the sport bite, which is good for sport and I have no problem with sport, but we will show something else here.
